Rustic Elegance

La Costa de Papito is "at the edge, where the jungle meets the sea, a place where the imaginatively painted road signs proclaim it's calmness and serenity, where you can listen to the music of the ocean's waves and enjoy the early morning concert of the birds..."

  • Bungalows are individually designed elegant, rustic wooden structures.

  • 13 bungalows privately set apart in a luxuriant 5 acre tropical garden.

  • Cool breezes from traditional tropical ceiling fans. Blankets for cool temperatures after 10 pm.

  • Large windows open onto vistas of heliconias, bromeliads, palms, gingers, tropical fruit trees and flowers.

"The velvety blue of a tropical night, the mysterious voices of the nocturnal spaces, and the majestic indirect walkway lighting to the cabin made me feel blessed to be just where I was"

  • Relax in a comfortable chair or hammock in the shade of a wrap around porch.

  • Enjoy a wealth of butterflies, birds, iguanas and docile sloths on the grounds.

  • Bungalows are screened with mosquito nets protecting the beds. Rest easy, mosquitoes are well behaved.

Owned and operated by Eddie Ryan, creator and administrator for 13 years of the world renowned Carlton Arms Hotel in New York City, where each room was created by a different artist.

"Ryan's years in the New York hotel business produced a sensitivity to human needs that is not the norm in these parts; he designed the bungalows so each has maximum privacy while offering plenty of air circulation and vistas of the surrounding foliage with large window openings."
